Flat Base Spokeshave
This flat base spokeshave is designed for smooth chatter-free shaping and planing of chair spindles, balustrades and tool handles. Two substantial knurled brass knobs allow you to precisely control the depth of cut by adjusting the mouth opening width.
A 50mm wide, 25° bevelled blade is perfect for use with hardwoods, softwoods and exotic woods. The spokeshave has an overall length of 265mm and weighs 330g.
Materials & Manufacturing
The spokeshave body features heavy, stress relieved ductile iron castings which are precision machined to ensure the base is flat. It features two bubinga wood handles which give a smooth and comfortable grip. The spokeshave is fitted with a T10 high carbon steel tool blade which can take a keen edge, and that has been hardened to RC60-64 for maximum edge retention. ©
