K10 Carbide Mini Woodturning Tools – Set of 3
Comprising of three carbide tipped turning tools, measuring 330mm in overall length, this mini tool set is specifically designed for turning small-scale and precise projects. Extremely easy to master and control these carbide tip tools leave an incredibly smooth surface that requires minimal sanding. Unlike conventional turning tools that require a sweeping movement to ensure a smooth cut, these tools simply require you to advance or retract the tip as you move the tools across the tool rest. The tips are manufactured from K10 carbide, which is extremely hardwearing, retaining its edge for longer even when working with hard and exotic woods. The blades are bevelled and will not clog in wet or resinous woods, ensuring a smooth and consistent finish to the workpiece. When the blade shows signs of wear simply rotate it around to an unused section to create a fresh edge.
The handles are ergonomically designed to allow for optimum grip and comfort and are made from a slow growing beech that has been selected for its straight grain, to ensure maximum strength. The shanks of the blades are buried deep into the beech handles and secured by a solid stainless steel ferrule.
The square roughing tool is primarily used for taking the stock from square to round and is also capable of producing delicate finishing cuts. It will leave a finished surface that is smooth, requiring minimal sanding. The round spindle tool is primarily a finishing tool for shaping and finishing the inside of bowls and goblets and for cutting coves into spindles. It will leave a finished surface that is smooth, requiring minimal sanding. The diamond detail tool is used as a small gouge and features double ended diamond shaped points that are excellent for adding narrow beads and coves. The diamond tool is commonly used when adding dovetail recesses for mounting chucks. It will leave a finished surface that is smooth, requiring minimal sanding. These are excellent mini carbide tip woodturning tools which are favoured for small projects and in particular for pen and pencil making. ©
