Only when you have actually used rare-earth magnets, will you appreciate their strength. Rare earth magnets are strong permanent magnets made from alloys of rare earth elements and they are the strongest type of permanent magnets made. They produce significantly stronger magnetic fields than other types such as ferrite or alnico magnets. Only people with extremely strong hands and fingers will be able to pull apart any of these magnets unaided.
Woodworkers find them excellent for use as catches on cabinet doors, boxes and cupboards and for holding keys or wrenches to machines in the workshop, plus they can be mounted with almost any glue. They are also perfect as fridge magnets that will stay put no matter what.
