Phenolic Staircase Jig
This phenolic staircase jig is the perfect solution for creating industry standard and building regulation approved staircases – British Standard 585 Part 1 (1989) and Building Regulations Approved Document K (2013). Unlike other staircase jigs on the market this jig only needs a standard 30mm diameter bush to achieve all standard installation thicknesses and tread depths thus eliminating potential incompatibility problems. No more need for different bushes and sub bases for your router making the job quicker and easier than ever before. With an increased demand for customised staircases this jig will allow you to build both open and closed riser stairs and allows for a range of nose size and tread thicknesses (22mm, 25.4mm, 28mm, 32mm).
This premium jig is engineered from solid grade, high-performance premium phenolic known for its exceptional strength, stability and warp resistance – as well as being totally water and liquid resistant. Budget jigs made from laminated composite can warp and lose stability due to moisture absorption and temperature change leading to inaccurate cuts. The extremely durable, anti-friction phenolic allows your router to glide smoothly through the cut without snagging. Inferior jigs made from less durable composite material can wear over time leading to imperfections in the surface and inaccurate cuts.
Precision CNC machine cut with +/- 0.02mm accuracy it will ensure you achieve precise cuts every time. This jig is adjustable to suit both private and public stair pitch angles and comes supplied with phenolic nosing inserts, depth guide bushes, aluminium connecting bar, and all the necessary threaded bars, wingnuts and washers. A comprehensive user manual is also included. To use this jig you will need a hand router, a dovetail router bit (angle: 5° diameter: 14mm, 16mm, 19mm or 22.2mm) or a straight router bit (diameter: 12.7mm – straight with end cutting) depending on your desired tread thickness and staircase design, 30mm guide bush and clamps.
