Screw Chuck
These 50mm diameter screw chucks are precision CNC machined from tool steel to an accuracy of +/- 0.01mm to ensure perfect balance and chatter-free turning. They come supplied with three steel screws: 8mm, 10mm and 12mm in diameter, each with a 25mm deep thread, to ensure a secure hold on hard, soft and green wood blanks. In addition to the centre screw, there are four countersunk holes for securing heavy and un-balanced blanks or for use as a small faceplate. The face of the screw chucks are fractionally back tapered and recessed to allow for the blank to locate rigidly in position.
These screw chucks are perfect for mounting a turning blank on the lathe to allow for initial truing up and for turning a dovetail base, ready for mounting on a chuck when bowl turning. ©
